Okay, so I am trying not to be sarcastic here. Weddings and engagements are possibly the sweetest events in anyone’s lives and especially, us girls. However, some of us are guilty-as-charged of using such done-to-death statements and quotes with our wedding or engagement pictures that the rest of us can’t even.
Here’s our roundup of the most cliché phrases used by Facebook users while sharing news of their nuptials. Most of these were aww-worthy the first time we saw them.
Warning: Cute wedding pictures coming up ahead! ^_^
1. Every love story is beautiful but ours is my favorite.
It conveys a beautiful message and it would have been heartwarming enough to read had I not seen it for some 1388th time on my timeline.
2. He stole my heart so I stole his last name.
This is a typical statement used, usually with a few props in all those pre-and-post wedding “candid” photoshoots that are a norm these days.
3. First comes love, then comes marriage…
Funnily enough, the arrange marriage folks in India usually turn around this statement to, ‘first comes marriage, then comes love…’
4. Marrying my best friend
Not to stereotype here but this line is loosely used by anyone in India who manages to marry their girlfriend/boyfriend with or without family troubles.
5. Marriage lets you annoy one special person for the rest of your lives.
This one’s my personal favorite and is possibly the only one I won’t be tired of 😉
6. I belong to him/I belong to her/His/Hers
You’re married so no other choice left now.
7. With my prince charming/princess
Another adorable one though a bit cheesy as well!
8. You and Me – forever
Coming straight from Sex and The City’s Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big’s wedding vows, this one’s more hackneyed than ever.
9. My Happily Ever After
So says Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, Belle…..
10. Officially Mrs …..
Thanks for the info.
11. I do
These statements are like digital traditions that we see being followed quite religiously on our social media feeds! But let’s sprinkle a little creativity in there guys! 🙂 Comment below with your ideas of how you’re going to declare your special day to the social media world! 🙂
