What’s in a name?
A lot if you are someone named Larry Gambles. This 65-year-old retired school administrator from Chicago hit the jackpot twice winning an amount totaling $1.1 million USD. What’s amazing is Larry won both the lotteries playing the same numbers.
On June 7th this year, Mr. Gambles won the eye watering sum of $1 million dollars in Illinois lottery. True to his name, this wasn’t the first time Mr. Gambles gambled away – nor is it the first time he won.
‘Nine years ago, I won $50,000 playing the numbers from the jerseys of my high-school basketball team,’ Gambles told the Illinois Lottery.
‘I’ve been playing the same numbers ever since. I can’t believe they paid off again.’
Even Larry’s family was astonished. “They couldn’t believe that I won the lottery again,” Gambles said.
It sure is unbelievable, Larry. Consider this, the average odds of winning a state lottery in USA is about 1 in 100,000,000. And to win it not once but twice is definitely awesome and infinitely lucky! Congratulations, Larry!
Larry is not letting his new-found wealth get to his head as he has plans to share his newly minted million with his family.
Larry’s advice for other lottery enthusiasts
Larry’s advice to other lottery players is pretty straightforward: “Pick your favorite numbers and stick with them. It worked for me!”
Thanks, Larry. Off I go to pick my numbers!
